不过，本篇可是和社会学无关。今天的话题是人格，和人格魅力。

注意：一个词往往有不同的含义，这里列举的词汇中，它们有些含义和我们今天的话题无关。
Nation，是指民族和国家；Nationality的意思是国籍。
Person，含义是一个人。Personality，是说个人的性格特征。

魅 力
It is not easy to define what is a charming personality. Then in general, a loveable personality means healthy and pleasant and respectable characteristics.
什么是有魅力的人格，很难下定义。不过一般而言，可爱的个性指的是健康而宜人而且正派可敬的性格特征。
Everyone has a unique personality and we shoud respect the differences.
每个人都有不同的个性，我们应该尊重差异。

We all like people who have integrity, who live up to principles, who stand for good things in life.
我们都喜欢正直的人，坚持原则的人，在生活中伸张正义的人。
We like people who always show good manners and always take their own responsiblities.

总 结
说到这里，同学们肯定早就在想，这么多表达人格、性格的词儿，他们的区别究竟在哪里呢？
简单而言，这里引用某英语教师的总结如下——
Characteristic: a distinguishing feature or quality.
Trait: a distinguishing characteristic or quality, especially of one's personal nature.
嗯，就是说，Characteristic 和Trait, 比较相似，都是说一种显著的区别于其他个体的个性特征。
而Character和Personality更加倾向于一系列特性的总和。
补 充
其实呢，去记忆这些区别没有太大的意思，除非读者是考生——不管是那一项语言考试的考生。考试显然需要一些学习捷径，虽然很多时候这种勉为其难的学习方式只有短暂的效应，考试之后忘记太多，对于语言能力的真正提升效果非常有限。
举个例子说，中文说降雨、下雨或者落雨（落雨在很多方言中显然比下雨更加常用）。我们真正搞清楚他们之间的区别的时候是在语境中不假思索的地说出各个词汇的时候。这个不是语法记忆的结果，而是反复的练习直至养成习惯的结果。
所以，不要太纠结于捷径了，最好的捷径就是开始说、开始写，立即，并且成为生活习惯。
